How do I begin using your web site to order doors?
From the Woodmont Doors section leader page, we have links to all Woodmont Doors pages within our web site. These
links are also repeated near the top and bottom of each Woodmont Doors page. The links are sectioned by door and drawer front series, and then helpful ordering & measuring information and additional
data. There are also links for our on-line quotation form which can also be used as an on-line ordering form. We also have a fax quotation or ordering form. These forms provide information fields for you to
fill in your data. They are a guideline and some areas of the forms may not pertain to all series of doors. Read on. Which door design best meets my needs?
This is a summary of what each door series is: Series 400 doors
are plywood panel wood doors. They are 5-piece construction with a M&T frame (Mortise and Tennon). A M&T frame is a 90 degree butted joint. You can order various wood species either finished or unfinished.
Series 200 doors
are raised panel M&T wood doors. This series offers the greatest possibilities in door designs. Hundreds of different combinations can be made. There are additional wood species that can be special ordered. And you can order them finished or unfinished.
Series 100 doors
are mitered corner raised panel wood door. A miter corner is the 45 degree angle connection you see in the corners. Only square and rectangular styles available, unlike series 200 and 400 which allow arch top doors. All wood doors can be ordered finished or unfinished.
The series 500 drawer fronts
offer slab drawer front possibilities to go with series 100, 200, and 400 doors. In most cases, matching edge profiles can be selected. Sometimes not. The wood choice and finish choice if selected will be identical to the doors. When interested in 5-piece drawer fronts to match the door look, series 100, 200, and 400 offer choices for that.
What are the differences between each Woodmont Doors series of doors?
The paragraph just above explained each series of doors. Series 100, 200, and 400 doors are wood doors that
can be ordered unfinished or with one of WD's offered finishes. Series 100 and 200 are raised panel doors. Series 400 are plywood panel doors. You have options of 90 degree corner connections or mitered
corner. Mitered corners look like picture frame connections. The M&T corner has become extremely popular and is a very strong connection for doors. It also also possibilities for arch top doors too. The
series 500 drawer fronts are one piece wood drawer fronts meant to accompany the various wood door series choices.
What is the difference between a mitered corner wood door and M&T door?
A miter corner door has all 4 pieces of the frame cut at 45 degree angles and fitted together in the corners. A M&T
(Mortise & Tennon) joint is butting a square edge to a flat edge, thus a 90 degree connection. The top and bottom rails fit between the side rails of the door.
Profiles? What exactly are frame, panel, and edge profiles? What does pass profile mean?
This is one of the tricky parts about ordering doors. For series 400 doors
which are a 5-piece construction with a plywood panel, you will select a frame and edge profile. The frame profile is the inside part of the frame that meets the plywood panel. The edge profile is the very perimeter of the door. An example is Q and SQ. This combination makes the popular shaker style look.
For series 200 doors, you have the most options. You can select a frame and edge profile just as in series 400. But you also select a panel profile. This will be the slope or curve of the panel as it
rises away from the 4-piece frame. With 4 total frame choices (in 3 width selections), 6 panel choices, and 15 edge choices, you can have three thousand different looks. The profiles page shows the 5 pieces
of the door extracted away from each other so you can see how they fit together with each other. In Series 100, your choices are limited. In this series, you select the design you like which is
basically the frame profile, such as 125, 142, etc. Edge choices are not abundant. Some frames come with only a few edge choices. You do not have a ton of options as with the M&T frame edge choices. In
series 100, you can select a panel profile, including a beaded panel. Series 300 is an offshoot of series 100 where you can request plywood panels, flat or beaded, instead of raised panels.
Do I have framed cabinets or frameless?
We have a page titled: Definition of frameless and face frame cabinetry
On this page we have drawn top views of cabinets as if looking down through the counter top. This is best explained by looking at that page. A face frame cabinet has a frame mounted to the front of the
cabinet box. Doors mount onto the face frame and generally cover a small portion of the frame. A Euro box or frameless cabinet has no frame. The edges of the cabinet box are seen when the door is open or not
in place. Overlays and inset applications are also explained on that web page. How can I see colors of doors?
The Wood finishes
will be shown on each door series page and again on the profiles page. You will see the available wood finish stain colors Woodmont Doors provides. They do not perform custom stain matching. Only their stains shown, and on the wood species they are shown on, are all that is available. The available glazes are explained on each page. As new colors become available, we will post the new information.
All wood doors are available as unfinished if you prefer. Which wood species do the doors come in?
Series 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 doors and drawer fronts are all available in Maple, Red Oak, Cherry, and Hickory. How do I measure for the correct doors?
The Measuring guidelines page offers the same instructions in the official Quality Doors spec guide and some notes we added. The Quality Doors Specifications guide was very helpful to our Quality Doors customers when we offered Quality Doors. The information is identical for Woodmont Doors so this is why we are keeping these pages on our web site.
How do I determine the right hinges for my doors?
There are three common applications: 1) concealed hinges for a face frame application; 2) concealed hinges on a frameless
application; and 3) semi-concealed hinges on a variable overlay application on a face frame. The Definition of frameless and
face frame cabinetry page shows how WD will bore their doors for concealed hinges. They offer hinges for 1/2" overlay concealed hinges on a face frame mount. If you have frameless cabinets, we can find the proper Euro box hinges you need. If you are planning semi-concealed hinges, then you do not want your doors bored. You can view variable overlay semi-concealed hinges in the Amerock and Classic Brass sections of our web site.
Can I have the doors bored for the European concealed hinges?

Definition of frameless and face frame cabinetry. It is very important to state left or right side boring for "arch topped" doors or doors with special top and bottom placement of hinge cup
holes. Normal bored rectangular doors can just be turned over for left or right side hinge mounting. What are your stock sizes of doors?
There is no such thing. Every door is
custom made. Everything is considered custom. You can have your doors made to the sixteenth of an inch. We price out doors by exact square footage. So a door that is 15" x 27-1/4" is just pennies less than a
door that is 15-1/16" x 27-5/16". Woodmont Doors does not stock any doors, all are made to order. Why do all your Woodmont Doors pages look the same on top?
Every section of our
web site contains the same page header for that specific section. Each section leader page contains the same left margin and header with links to every section leader page. This allows you to jump sections
in our web site. We also have a site navigation button on each page which brings you to a summarized index page. So each Woodmont Doors page contains the same header so you can jump from WD page to WD page.

section leader pages. How do I select the right drawer fronts to go with my doors?
Series 100, 200, 300, and 400 doors have matching drawer fronts for most designs if you
meet the minimum heights. Series 500 slab drawer fronts can be used in conjunction with any wood door. In most cases you can have a matching edge profile on the slab drawer fronts.
I need cabinet refacing material, what do you have? Veneer, mouldings, plywood....
Yes. Check out the Moulding page for these materials. You can order mouldings, plywood, and veneer in unfinished or finished choices. Plywood is cut to size. Mouldings come in 8' lengths only. Veneer sheets are self-adhesive backed and can be trimmed to size (by customer); they come in 24" x 96" size only. Plywood is recommended to cover end panels, or you can use doors. Veneer is recommend for refacing face frames. Veneer is not recommend for very large areas. Better to use the 1/4" thick plywood for large areas.
How do I see door pricing?
We will post square foot pricing on the door pages and unit pricing on the moulding page for mouldings and veneer, and then sq. ft. pricing again for
the cut to size plywood. If you like, we will also quote your request in advance of placing an order with us. We have links on each page for an on-line ordering or quotation form. There is also a fax form
that can be printed and faxed to us. If you just want to type your information in a plain e-mail and send it to us, that is fine. Please remember to specify door designs, wood, finishes, profiles, sizes,
quantities, and options. Everything contributes to the overall price calculations. We would prefer that you use the on-line quotation form as the main means of sending us data. Door quotations over the phone can be very time consuming. To quote out a long list of doors over the phone does take some time. If you just have a few sizes of doors and know all your profile selections, etc., you are welcome to call us. Most on-line and fax quotes are answered in 1 to 3 days depending upon our daily volume. And as most working people know, the day seems to disappear quite quickly most of the time. Saturdays and Sundays are not considered working days.
How do I navigate the Woodmont Doors section of this web site?
From the top of every WD page, the same links keep appearing over and over. They listed in two columns: Door and
drawer fronts styles on the left; accessories for refacing; helpful information pages; and additional information on the right. Most of the links have been explained in answers on this page.
Can I get samples of the colors?
We do not have a color sample program. If you need to view a wood and stain color prior to placing a full size order, please order one small door or drawer front in
a size you know you will be using. This way if you like the color, you will already have one on your list that you will not need to re-order. You could also order a small piece of plywood. Minimum shipping
charges of $10 apply on all small orders, this is just to cover the expense of boxing and shipping. Yet, there is no minimum order size. If you need just one door or two doors for a bathroom vanity, that is
fine. Place whatever size order you require. Can I just order a sample door to begin with?
Most certainly. There is no minimum. (Basically same as previous question.) If you are
ever uncertain about how it will look, order a sample first. Sample doors take about the same amount of time to produce as a large order. Woodmont Doors produces a ton of orders weekly. Unfortunately, there
is no rushing a sample order. We do ask, if you have any doubts about how it will look, order a sample door or drawer front first. All doors are custom made and non-returnable. Including sample doors. Order
the sample in a size you will be using. All doors, drawer fronts, and plywood, can be made to the sixteenth of an inch. There is a 3-1/2" minimum on drawer fronts and plywood as a shop safety standard. How long do door orders take to receive?
Unfinished wood doors will normally ship within 6 to 9 days after your order is placed, it depends upon Woodmont Doors weekly volume which
can fluctuate. Finished wood doors normally take 2 to 3 days longer, glazed finished doors can add another 1 to 2 days to that. Veneer, mouldings, and plywood, when ordered with doors take the same amount of
time if finished because they will be finished at the same time as your custom size doors. Door orders are set up as direct ships in the continental US to help speed up delivery time to you. Orders to Alaska
and Hawaii, we will ask WD to quote freight on and then proceed accordingly. Sometimes we have small orders ship to us first, then we will reship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other destinations via
Priority Mail to save on your freight cost. Every order is different and has to be judged as to what is best for its travel. What is glazing? How do I order glazing?
Glazing is
done on doors that have nooks and crannies for the glaze to catch in. It is the process of making a brand new door have an antique look. Many modern kitchens have glazed wood doors for a elegant look. Some
profile selections do not allow the glaze to catch within them, such as plain shaker style doors. But a shaker style door with a beaded panel provides lots of crevices for glaze to get stuck in. Mitered
corner raised panel doors seem to be the most popular for glazing requests. Glaze colors are chocolate, bronze, and almond. Generally, a dark glaze is thrown onto lighter stained doors and the almond glaze
is applied to darker stained doors. But you can do it any way you like! Do you paint doors?
Woodmont Doors does not paint any of their doors. They do not prime them either.
Unfinished wood doors will be fine sanded and ready for you to finish. Finished wood doors are available in their stain selections only. If you are planning on painting your door a solid color, our
recommendation is: if a light colored paint or thin lacquer coat, order Maple, it will allow for an even blend. If your paint will be a medium to dark color, order your doors as "paint grade." You will save
money when ordering "paint grade" doors. Paint grade doors will be a solid wood frame composed of maple, cherry, alder, or poplar, and it can be a mixture of woods, and then an MDF core. Paint grade doors
are understood that they will eventually be coated with a solid, non-translucent paint. If your goal is a thin coat paint where you want woodgrain to show, order red oak, maple, cherry, or hickory. I want mullion doors but am not sure about how to order them.
There is a page on the mullion doors. This shows information on how to order mullion and frame only doors. The 100 and
200 series can be made into mullion or frame only doors. Frame only are one big opening ready for a glass insert. Mullion doors are the large opening broken into smaller lite openings. One piece of glass is
still used but it gives the illusion of several smaller pieces of glass. You specify how many lites you would like. ML4 and ML6 are very popular (4-lite and 6-lite).
Ordering policy, warranties, claims?
We will add a page for this when Woodmont Doors provides us with their written policies. Basically, all doors, drawer fronts, plywood, etc. is custom ordered.
There will be no returns allowed on any products. This is why we ask that you double check all your measurements and selections. If any doors arrive to you defective in any way: size, color, scratches, tell
us right away. They will be re-made at no charge to you. If any doors arrived damaged due to freight carrier mis-handling, save the packaging, save the door, tell us right away, and again, they will be
re-made for you. Damage claims may entail the freight carrier picking up the damaged merchandise.
