Granite corner soap dishes and granite corner shelves
Can be used to hold bar soap, shampoo bottles, liquid soap bottles, razors and other bathroom and shower essentials.
In the kitchen, they can be used as small plant shelves, nick-knack shelves, or to hold soaps.
They can be used in tiers to create additional storage space in corners. Two or three in the shower adds a lot of bottle and stacking space.
Specifications:
part # TIS-SD1-(color code) small soap dish: 1-1/16" tall on back edges, 6-3/4" long on both sides out from corner, dish platform generally 3/8" to 9/16" thick. Since the dishes are hand made and some
stones are harder, SD1 dish thickness can vary. The SD1 soap dish can be completely surface mounted, or if you have not installed your tile yet and you want to be more creative with your install, the soap dish can be
set in-line with your granite or marble tiles. All front edges and the height of the back walls are polished, so the soap dish can be completely surface mounted if you prefer. If your tile is already in place, you will
surface mount the dish using a 100% waterproof adhesive rated for bonding stone to stone. Then you can caulk the perimeter of the soap dish with clear silicon caulking to keep water intrusion from getting behind them.
Front edge of SD1 has faint bevels on top and bottom for a clean smooth feel. part # TIS-SD2-(color code) large soap dish: 3/4" even thickness, 9-1/2" long on both sides out
from corner. The SD2 soap dish is flat and does not have a higher backwall like the SD1. The SD2 soap dish can be completely surface mounted if you like. However, if you have not installed your granite or marble tile
yet, we suggest mounting it in-line with the tiles. By doing so you are creating a ledge for the full length of each side to be supported by. This will give you a stronger mount if your tile has not been installed yet.
If it has, then you can just mount the dish on the surface of the tile. Use a permanent 100% waterproof adhesive and then caulk the perimeter afterward. The SD2 dish weighs 4-1/2 to 5-1/2 pounds itself, depending upon
which granite or marble it is. It can hold many bottles or items since it is a large dish. It is important to make sure it is mounted with a high quality adhesive. One face of the SD2 has a soap divot cut into it. That
divot measures 2-1/8" x 4-1/2". Both faces of the dish are highly polished. You can mount it with the soap divot side up or down. If using it as a corner shelf for bottles, then mount it with the soap divot downward.
Use the completely flat side of it. Front edge is a rounded bullnose. Pricing:

When selecting Santa Cecilia, please be aware that there is also a Santa Cecilia
Light. Both versions will have the burgandy color dots, they seem to be larger on SC. But note that the background color on SCL is more milky. Please do not confuse either of the Santa Cecilias with New Venetian Gold.

The first granite soap dish SD1 was available 2 years ago from a different partner to Turned In Stone. This company did not stick around. Thus for the last year, we had what we had purchased
on closeout. Turned In Stone now has a more promising partner, in which they are offering double the number of colors and also a second version of the soap dish, the SD2. The SD2 is considerably larger and extremely
elegant. Both are exceptionally fine pieces of craftsmanship. As for the previous SD1 soap dishes, our old stock has gone down to:
1 Absolute Black; and 1 New Venetian Gold.
We cannot merge the old with the new
because, there are differences in the stone colors. The older versions from a different manufacturing partner are lighter in color. So for these two dishes only, they are on closeout for $49.99. When they are gone, this
note will be removed.
